As soon as Eleanor was divorced she became engaged to Henry, Duke of Normandy, In 1154 he became King Henry II, of England and she became Queen of England. While she was married to Henry she had Eight children, five sons and three daughters.
In 1173 Eleanor and Henry were no longer on speaking terms, their son Henry Jnr. Led an unsuccessful revolt against his father, which Eleanor supported. So King Henry threw her in jail.
Eleanor remained in jail until 1189 (15 years), when King Henry died and their son became King Richard I. Richards first thought was to free his Mum, he went straight to the Tower of London and bought her home. Richard wasn’t married even though he was 30 years old, It was thought that he was homosexual, so his mum became his Queen. When Richard died his brother John, Eleanors youngest son became King.
So in summary Eleanor didn’t have much luck on the husband front but she did have 10 kids in total to them both and they seemed to like her. She was Queen of France for 15 years, then Queen of England for 34 years. She died in 1204 aged 82, which was pretty ancient in those days, outliving 8 of her 10 children.
